Fruit tree growing under the second cycle of the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) program has kicked off.
Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok, launched the distribution exercise of the fruit tree at the AIC Kimoso Widows Self-Help Group, an inspiring collective of 360 dedicated members in Sotik Subcounty, marking a significant milestone for the county’s green economy.
Implemented by Climate Change Unit, the second phase of the program is designed to enhance food security and climate resilience.
Following a comprehensive farmer sensitization exercise held previous week, the county is now rolling out a massive distribution of high-quality fruit tree seedlings to 25 organized groups across the county.
The distribution includes 55,000 avocado seedlings destined for 18 wards and 25,000 mango seedlings to be planted across 7 wards.
By focusing on these high-value crops, Governor Barchok administration aims to empower local farmers to transition
